Background
With almost 2 decades of experience in health and fitness, Shelby Hensler is a sought after health professional in Orange County. After graduating from UCSB with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Sociology, she trained clientele throughout Orange County’s leading sports clubs and boutique studios. Her experience as a collegiate level athlete, coach and personal trainer provided her valuable insight that performance, health and healing goes beyond just the physical. “Health is your natural state of being,” she says. “Healing happens when we remove and reevaluate the aspects of our lives that distract from this natural state of being.” With this experiential knowledge, Shelby began to integrate thousands of hours of professional education including massage and osteopathic manual therapy, yoga and embodiment, biomechanics, energy healing, ministerial training, and more into her therapeutic practice.
Shelby’s approach is concise, impassioned, and intuitive: the body and breath communicate more than words. By blending eastern and western science practices and techniques, the optimal capacity of the body is encouraged to bloom. In this safe and intentional environment, Shelby’s approach has assisted many clients in moving beyond pain, learning new skills and patterns of movement and breathing, improving strength/performance and mobility, regulating the neural components of healing, and promoting a sense of grounding, connection, and inner peace.
In her personal life, Shelby enjoys the gifts of family and spending time with her husband and son. In free time away from her studio in Newport Beach, Unbound Collective, you can find her reading and “nerding out.” She indulges in her competitive athletic side from time to time, and enjoys hiking, swimming, surfing, snowboarding, and more. Likewise, creative expression, dance, movement, and painting all hold valuable space in her heart.
